Increase your lead gen potential reach

I’m going to tell you how to increase your marketing funnel and increase your lead gen conversions by sharing some of the online marketer’s best strategies.

1. Form optimization

The first thing I ask myself is, “Does the customer know why they’re filling in the form?” You should make it clear why they’re doing this and what value there is in it for them. Focus on how the landing page around them looks.

Make your forms easy to fill out but also beautiful. There are so many lead capture form templates out there, you should certainly take a look and see how your current form matches up to their look and feel.

Divide the form into steps, and that makes it less visually daunting and allows you to set up analytics (to measure exactly which stage a form was abandoned at, so you can see any problems).

2. Email marketing

Most marketers know that an effective email campaign is one of the highest return strategies out there, but they might be a little fuzzy on the details of how you get that to work for you.

3. Content

More than just a blog post here and there, content is what feeds the beast. And by the beast, I mean the internet. Use your content strategies to move your audience, gain authority with search engines, and capture leads.

Content types range from the small, like social media posts, to larger text offerings that can be thousands of words long, infographics and images, video tutorials, interactive presentations or quizzes, basically almost anything you can find on the web.

Start building your content profile now, using as many types as you can.

4. Social media

Social media is a sub-type of content marketing as mentioned above, one that encourages sharing, reposting, and communication. Most of us use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram daily in our private lives, but many companies use these platforms completely wrong!

Instead of just being a way to push your latest boring company news, you should be trying to build a following. You do this by reaching out to people and connecting. Be helpful, be nice, be entertaining. Use it as a customer service tool. And only THEN use it as part of the marketing funnel.

5. An integrated and experimental approach

You have to be passionate about lead gen in order to be successful. You have to be willing to experiment and keep going even when it’s not (yet) working. You have to test and measure, then do it again, day after day. You have to watch all your different channels and tweak multiple strategies at the same time. You have to notice the patterns that lead to success or failure.
